United Carpet One is a third generation, family-owned business which began serving the Central Valley in 1959 with a humble staff of two, Grandpa and Dad. They spent three days per week selling carpeting and three to four days installing it. They expanded the product offering to include vinyl flooring (a popular product in the 70's) which forced them to increase the staff to four. It was their reputation for superior quality products and service that helped them maintain steady growth.

In 1997, Julie Kerkochian began managing the operation after completing her MBA at Fresno State. With her formal business education and her father's industry experience, United Carpet One soon grew into two retail store-fronts which now offers a multitude of professional flooring lines and includes carpet, vinyl, ceramic tile, hard wood, laminate and area rugs.
